Doug Adamson

Doug is an Adelaide based investor, advisor and serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience creating successful businesses. During this time he  has been directly involved as a founder and advisor in the successful development and management of multiple companies that commercialised novel products and technologies.  He has proven experience in the use of innovation as a driver of growth as a founder of several high growth companies.   Over the years he has demonstrated governance skills as a director in private, not for profit and government sectors including companies, peak industry bodies,  and regional development organisations.

 

Career Summary

• 6 years investment management experience at seed/early stage VC fund Playford Capital

• 9 years’ Commercialisation Advisor to the Federal Government’s Accelerating Commercialisation and Commercialisation Australia programs. 

• In this role he originated a portfolio of 52 companies in SA and NT and facilitated approximately $21M in direct funding with follow on raisings of more than $30M in equity, debt or additional grants.  

• 14 angel investments

• Co-founded and grew UK based media production company MCM Entertainment that delivered weekly programming to 23 countries across Europe via a pioneering distribution model. 

  • Developed blue chip clients such as Coca-Cola, Philips, Levi’s McDonalds. 

  • Exited via a JV with Austereo/Village Roadshow.
